When I first moved to Duluth, City Hall was housed in the former First Baptist Church (now the home of the fabulous Maple Street Biscuit Company). A growing community necessitated a larger structure, and the current City Hall was dedicated in 2007. It's a beautiful building, and I recently had the pleasure of meeting the architect. It's a wonderful bee-hive of activity, and I'm grateful for the many dedicated and helpful people I have met who work there. My original 11"x14" drawing is part of their permanent collection, and can be found on the first floor, near the south entrance. I enjoy visiting it from time to time, and straightening as needed. Normally, an 11"x14" drawing takes me about 12-15 hours to complete. With this one, I stopped counting after about 60. I needed to stop thinking about the hours, and focus on those bricks! If you look carefully, you'll see where I allowed a pidgeon to continue to roost undisturbed.
